Caliraya Lake is situated in the towns of Cavinti, Lumban and Kalayaan in Laguna.
Interestingly, Caliraya Lake is a man-made lake design by an American Engineers and was built in the late 1930's.
The reservoir created by the dam, Lake Caliraya, initially supplied one of the oldest hydroelectric plants in the Philippines.
It was created by flooding the Cavinti Valley of Sierra Madre.
